1st/2nd Blacktown Scout Group
Our New Group was approved by NSW Branch on the 8th of May 2000 after the amalgamation of the two groups of 1st Blacktown and 2nd Blacktown.
Our new scarf is a joining of both old scarves. 1st Blacktown's scarf being Sky Blue base with a 12 mm Red band offset 12 mm from the edge and 2nd Blacktown being a Sky Blue base with a 12 mm Royal Blue band on the edge. The new scarf is now Sky Blue Base with a 12 mm Royal Blue Band on the edge with a 6 mm gap then a 12 mm Red band.
On Saturday 3rd of June 2000 our new Scout Group was officially opened by a presentation of the new scarf to all invested members of the Group and a dedication of the new flags. We are the only Group in NSW to have flags with the new Australian Scout Insignia.
After a few words from our Group Leader Brian Edwards, all invested Scout and Cub Scouts reaffirmed their Promise. First to receive the new scarf was Brian, then all the Section Leaders. The Leaders then proceeded to present all the youth with their new scarves. The Scouts then gave the Cub Scout a big "Bravo" and they replied with a very loud "123 Wolf".
After the dedication and many photos for our time capsule, we all walked to the beginning of the Blacktown City Festival March to show off our new Scarves and Flags.
