Recent Awards

At the recent Greater Western Sydney Regional Annual General Meeting our Scout Leader, Jim Loveridge, was awarded the Silver Arrowhead for Excellent Service to the Scouting Movement. Below are photos of Jim receiving his award from Ray Thornley, Greater Western Sydney Regional Commisioner (Former Group Leader of 2nd Blacktown)

Citation

Had it not been for James' efforts his Group, 2nd Blacktown would not be in existence today.
James runs the Scout Troop in a very efficient manner and has taken his Scouts from being in last position at Zone Competition Camps to be one of the top three. He is a supporter of Zone events, has assisted in Patrol Leader Training and has deputised for Regional Leader Scouts when required.
James also took on the additional role of Scouter-in-Charge for well over a year and duing this time he was able to keep the attention of young people on the business of Scouting.
Despite having a small amount of parents to call upon, he was able to form a full Group Committee and ensure that money was available, through fundraising endeavours, to keep the Group financially viable.
James recruited a Group Leader for his Group and continued to assist with the running of the Group until the Group Leader was fully trained.
James is a most dedicated Leader of the Movement.
